TROOPS 329 & 9329

WHO WE ARE

TroopS 329 and 9329 McCandless are Scouting America units that meet at Memorial Park Church in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. Troop 329 is a male troop and 9329 is a female troop.  The capital "S" at the end of TroopS represents the unity of our two groups.  We offer a year-round program for youth ages 11 to 17.

As a scout-led troop, we operate under the Patrol Method of Scouting. In scouting, the "patrol method" refers to a system where scouts are organized into small groups called patrols, each led by a chosen Patrol Leader.  This allows them to learn leadership skills, work together as a team, and take responsibility for planning and executing activities within their patrol, rather than relying solely on adult leadership. It's a way for young people to lead each other within a smaller group setting.

WHAT WE DO

The TroopS are dedicated to instilling Scout values and building character among middle and high school-aged youth. Our youth members are active in service, social, athletic, and performance activities across the area and we always welcome new members.

THE SCOUT OATH

On my honor, I will do my best

To do my duty, to God and my country, and to obey the Scout Law;

To help other people at all times;

To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.
